Anthony Thompson

Tony, a native of Belfast, N. Ireland, is currently Manager, Operations for a Washington-based Multi-lateral Financial Institution. He has worked extensively on development issues for more than 25 years both in Africa and globally focusing at different times on financial sector development, HIV/AIDS and other issues. He has lived twice in Tanzania, East Africa, the first time seconded to the Diocese of Central Tanganyika by TEAR Fund working as administrator for a rural hospital. The second time was with his current employer. Tony is married to Ruth, they have three children – Grace (17), Anna Joy (15) and Brendan (12) – and they live in Laurel, Maryland. Tony has an MBA from the University of Chicago.
