James Chen

James Chen is a Program Officer for East Asia at the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE). Before coming to IGE James was a research associate at the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies, a regional research center of the National Defense University in Washington, D.C.

Prior to that, James worked in Taiwan for over seven years at Overseas Radio & Television, a Christian media organization based in Taipei. James has a Master's degree in International Relations and Security from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from the University of Pennsylvania. He speaks Mandarin and Taiwanese. James, a native of Flushing, NY, now lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife and son.
